Launch of pouch with recycled LDPE content for non-food applications
Saica Flex, a division of
SA Industrias Celulosa Aragonesa (Saica, Zaragoza / Spain;
www.saica.com), has launched a detergent tablet pouch that contains recycled polyethylene. The pouch, said Saica, represents the first project where it has successfully replaced virgin resin with recycled resin in up to 45% of the pack?s total weight.
The new "Greenheart" packaging line can be used in a wide range of non-food applications. Saica said the pouches have similar characteristics to those produced with virgin materials and gave optimum results both in the packaging conversion and in the form-fill-seal process.

Miguel Yetano, managing director of Saica Flex.
Saica Natur, the group?s waste management and environmental services division, provides the recycled LDPE. "Natur Cycle Plus" resin is accredited by European certification scheme EuCertPlast as 100% post-consumer recycled content.08.07.2019 Plasteurope.com [242818-0]
